The French Ligue 1 kicks off on Friday August 5 when Olympique Lyonnais take on newly promoted AC Ajaccio. Other teams promoted this year include AJ Auxerre and Toulouse FC. Paris Saint-Germain, reigning champions, open their season against Clermont Foot 63 on Saturday August 6th.

AC Ajaccio is located in the city of Ajaccio on the island of Corsica, in the Mediterranean Sea, southeast of France and very close to Italy.
