favorites and claws of our special correspondent after a lunar evening

Find out what caught the attention of our special correspondent at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, for the match between Paris and Lens.

Parisians and Lensois make common cause

This is a real crush. While they were banned from traveling by the authorities, the Lensois supporters, in any case a few dozen of them, took up residence in the middle of the Auteuil stand on Saturday, during this draw between PSG and RC Lens. (1-1). Auteuil is obviously the home of the Collectif Ultras Paris. And the CUP has taken the step of inviting the Lensois Ultras as part of the fight for the freedom of supporters. A very nice gesture. We even saw a northern banner deployed in the Bend. Beautiful. Very sporty. To greet.

Messi, and the light was

Lionel Messi in Paris is not a real success, let’s be honest. The seven-time Ballon d’Or, however, recalled that his left “paw” remains magical on Saturday evening, with this victorious cannon shot from 25 meters. Jean-Louis Leca could only see the damage. A jewel synonymous with a title for Paris-SG and the fourth goal of the “Pulga” with the Red and Blue in L1, the ninth in all competitions.

Fofana is (very) strong

We did not discover Seko Fofa on Saturday against his hometown club. The 26-year-old Ivorian international has simply confirmed all the good we are entitled to think of him. Volume, aggressiveness, projection… A buffalo. The complete modern midfield package. With a big hit as a bonus, which does not spoil anything. Even if the person concerned lacked precision in his attempts (3 shots). A big, big, big game from Fofana, recalling in passing that it is a profile that has been missing in the Parisian ranks throughout the season. One thing is certain: his rating on the transfer market has not dropped after this successful performance against PSG.

surreal atmosphere

House party? Not for Paris. Chafouins since the elimination against Real Madrid in the Champions League, the Parisian Ultras continued their protest movement on Saturday. As they had announced before the meeting, they put away their tarpaulin and left their stands just over a quarter of an hour from the end. All to better celebrate the title… at the foot of the Virage Auteuil, outside the stadium, giving rise to surreal scenes that will no doubt go around the world. If their anger is understandable, their demands too, at least for the most part, this action rings false. A bit as if the dissensions within the CUP had given birth to a measure that was by nature imperfect due to a lack of consensus. In any case, the players only moderately appreciated and understood. They are not the only ones. A missed date. Note that the players did not even take a lap of honor, limiting themselves to a few timid thanks from the central circle, some, Messi in the lead, quickly returning to the locker room.

Mbappé is human, after all

Ladies and gentlemen, know that Kylian Mbappé is just a man, neither a demigod nor an alien. We sometimes doubted it. But his performance on Saturday evening allowed the bell tower to be put back in the middle of the village. For once, Bondy’s crack, the best player in the world in the eyes of many, failed, lacking accuracy in his technical gestures and above all efficiency in front of goal. From the second minute to stoppage time, he sinned against Jean-Louis Leca. It is so rare that we could not fail to underline it.

PSG made the coup of the breakdown

A draw to clinch the title? Like the PSG season. However, Mauricio Pochettino lined up what seems to be THE best Parisian team on paper, with a three-man defense around Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe and Sergio Ramos, arrows Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi on the sides, the Verratti / Gueye duo in the middle and of course the “MNM” in front. Moreover, the Parisian performance was not bad at all on Saturday evening. In any case, the Rouge et Bleu had control and multiple opportunities to score. Good enough to win. Alas, they made the blow of the breakdown after the opener of the luminous score of Messi. And this while Lens have evolved to 10 from the hour mark… It was only PSG’s second draw at home in the French league this season, after 15 wins in 16 matches so far.
