Draw for the European Cups: all the posters in the quarter-finals

Today was a big event for football fans! This afternoon, UEFA drew lots for the quarter-finals of the most prestigious of European competitions, the Champions League, but also for its two little sisters, the Europa League and Europa League Conference. Here are all the posters.

Champions League: a clash between Chelsea and Real Madrid in the quarter-finals

We knew since this Wednesday March 16, at the end of the last return matches in the eighth, the names of the clubs qualified to continue the race in the Champions League 2021-22. Now, we know the posters: it was this Friday, March 18, at the headquarters of UEFA, in Switzerland, that the long-awaited draw for the quarter-finals was held.

As a reminder, the first legs will take place on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 April, after which the return matches will take place on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 April. UEFA also conducted the draw for the semi-finals which follow, with first legs on 26 and 27 April and second legs on 3 and 4 May. Finally, it will be necessary to wait until May 28 to see the two finalists compete at the Stade de France. But we are not there yet. We invite you to discover, already, the crisp posters for these quarter-finals of the Champions League:

  • Chelsea-Real Madrid
  • Manchester City – Atletico Madrid
  • Villarreal – Bayern Munich
  • Benfica – Liverpool

For the semi-finals, the winner of Benfica – Liverpool will meet the winner of the quarter between Villarreal and Bayern Munich. And so the winner of Manchester City – Atlético Madrid will meet the winner of the quarter between Chelsea and Real Madrid in the semi-finals.

Europa League: OL inherits West Ham

After having thus revealed the posters of the next matches in the Champions League, UEFA proceeded to draw lots for the quarter-finals of its two little sisters, the Europa League and the Europa League Conference. And this time, two French clubs are involved…

In the Europa League first of all, know that Olympique Lyonnais inherited West Ham for the quarter-finals, the first legs of which will be played on April 7 and the return matches on April 14. Barça will face Eintracht Frankfurt, while RB Leipzig will play against Atalanta and, finally, Sporting Braga against Glasgow Rangers.

For what will then be the semi-finals, we already know that if OL manage to qualify, the French club could find themselves facing an even more complicated opponent… Here are the potential posters semi-final matches, which will be held on April 28 (go) and May 5 (return):

  • RB Leipzig or Atalanta – Sporting Braga or Glasgow Rangers
  • West Ham or Olympique Lyonnais – Eintracht Frankfurt or FC Barcelona

The 2021-22 Europa League final will then take place on May 13, in Seville, Spain.

Europa League Conference: good draw for OM

Finally, UEFA also drew lots for the quarter-finals of the Europa League Conference, where Olympique de Marseille is the last French representative in the competition. And the draw was rather lenient for the Phocaeans, who will face the Greek club PAOK Salonika. As in the Europa League, the first legs will take place on April 7 and the return matches the following week, on the 14th. Here are the posters for the quarter-finals of the Europa League Conference:

  • Bodø/Glimt (NOR) – AS Roma (ITA)
  • Feyenoord (NED) – Slavia Prague (CZE)
  • Marseille (FRA) – PAOK (GRE)
  • Leicester (ENG) – PSV Eindhoven (NED)

As for the other European competitions, UEFA also drew lots to determine the posters for the semi-finals of the Europa League Conference, the first legs of which will take place on April 28 and the return matches on May 5:

  • The winner of Leicester (ANG) – PSV Eindhoven (NED) will meet the winner of Bodø/Glimt (NOR) – AS Roma (ITA)
  • The winner of Feyenoord (NED) – Slavia Prague (CZE) will meet the winner of Marseille (FRA) – PAOK (GRE)

The Europa League Conference final will then take place on Wednesday 25 May in Tirana, Albania.
