Advice from Roberto Martinez

The young Belgian should make his debut in his new jersey on Saturday against Vicenza in a warm-up match. “The coach Stefano Pioli told me that he will give me playing time. I can’t wait.” A versatile player, De Ketelaere was asked about his favorite role. “I prefer to be more attacking, to play close to a striker. Either as a second striker or as an attacking midfielder.”

Milan won the last Italian league, ending an 11-year drought, but failed to break out of the Champions League groups, finishing fourth in a tough group with Liverpool, Atlético Madrid and Port. “Advancing to the next round in the Champions League will be one of the big goals.

With the team we have, we have to do everything to get there”, thinks De Ketelaere. In Milan, he will have as a teammate Zlatan Ibrahimoviccurrently injured. “I can learn a lot from such a player, when you see how long he’s been in European football… I’m young and I can learn a lot from more experienced players. I’m looking forward to playing with him.”
